Kiwanis - Serving the Children of the World
Serving the Children of the World

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. The name is derived from an American Indian expression "Nunc Kee-wanis", meaning "we trade" or "we share our talents".

You have found this information because you are a concerned individual about the "going's-on" in our community. We seek people with a desire to serve our community, provide resources and ecourage positive development of youth with a priority one focus on the young children in our community.

Kiwanis spans the globe with more than 300,000 members in more than 13,000 individual clubs in 79 countries. Kiwanis clubs raise and donate an average of $70 million, which is the result of 6.5 million volunteer hours for special events and projects throughout the year.

Joining the Elgin Noon Kiwanis promises to be one of the most rewarding experiences you can imagine. We invite you to come to any of our weekly meetings, held every Tuesday at 12:00 PM at The Hickory Stick Restaurant (in the clubhouse of The Highlands Golf Course).

Our members include City Officials, Chamber of Commerce representatives, local City Council and State Representatives, as well as local friends, neighbors and business professionals. The main requirements for joining are the desire to help serve the children of the Elgin area, and have a lot of fun.

Are you interested in getting more information about joining the Elgin Noon Kiwanis? By joining, you'll be entitled to the benefits of membership including the weekly luncheon meetings consisting of a fine meal and an informative presentation of local current events, businesses, services and history from local residents/business owners.  You'll also have a voice in implementing programs that address the needs of the youth in our community.

We would like very much to have you join us, so please feel free to come to one of our regular Tuesday meetings to experience for yourself the fun and fellowship, or contact our Membership Committee Chairperson:
