2014 City of Elgin Image Award Winners!

Elgin Noon Kiwanis president, Dan Ault and other representatives proudly accepted the 2014 Elgin Image Award for our many years of service to the Elgin community on March 20th at the Heritage Ballroom in Elgin. You can see more images here.

The club's most recent project was led by member Rick Poulton. Members rallied to fill a specific need for a summer free lunch site. Residents in the area of National and Raymond Streets had a park but there was no means to serve meals to children. Working with the City of Elgin, the Elgin Housing Authority and Elgin Golden K's, Rick spearheaded the Kiwanis project to purchase and build a new gazebo and to assemble picnic tables. Through these efforts, over 1000 lunches were served to neighborhood children in their park this past summer. Now called Kiwanis Park, the site was dedicated on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
